Chickpea Burgers

Simple vegan burgers made with chickpeas and yummy seasoning.

Ingredients

FOR 8 HAMBURGERS

  • 500g/5 cups pre cooked chickpeas 
  • 2 eggs
  • 25g/1 ¾ tbsp 
  • 1 shallot 
  • 5g/1 ¼ tsp fresh ginger 
  • 35g/2 ½ tbsp sandwich bread 
  • Fine salt, to taste
  • Black pepper, to taste
  • 50g/3 tbsp breadcrumbs 

BUNS AND TOPPINGS

  • Hamburger buns
  • Salad, to taste
  • Tomatoes, to taste
  • Red onion, top taste
  • Ketchup, to taste
  • Mayonnaise, to taste

Method

  • Cut the sandwich bread into cubes, slice the shallow finely, and drain the pre cooked chickpeas from their liquid.
  • Pour the chickpeas into the mixer, add the shallow, mustard, ginger, sandwich bread, eggs, black pepper and salt. 
  • Blend all the ingredients until you get a homogeneous and compact mixture. Place the dough in a bowl and add the breadcrumbs. Now form the burgers.
  • Once formed, proceed with the cooking: heat the Whatever Pan and when it is hot, grill the burgers for a couple of minutes on both sides, until they detach and have the perfect grill marks. 
  • Now take the buns and fill them with the chickpea burgers, fresh salad and some tomato and red onion slices. You can top off your chickpea burgers with your favourite sauces.
